Revived...

A new post finally...the first for the year 2005. After a long hard semester, while enjoying my 1 week holiday, decided to start writing an entry for my blog. I know im supposed to do maintenance much more frequently than this but i dun seem to have the time or mood to write a new entry. However, i love reading my frends' blog entries...so good get updates from them knowingly or unknowingly every now and then. So seems like i've been taking and not giving..haha..expect from this entry some of my tots for the whole of 1st half of the year and my happenings..not very exciting i must admit...(how exciting can a stressed student's life be anyway?)

It was indeed a stressful and killing sem i went thru...(at least for mi) . Led quite a no-life sem with lots of labs work, make-no-sense lectures and busy-copying tutorials. Staying in hall for the sem was a good thing for mi...no 1 hr spent on MRT, 1/2 hr on buses, 20 mins waiting for buses etc. However, staying hall almost made mi a cave-woman who hides in NTU 99% of her time. Finally, the sem has come and gone...but the worst has yet to come...dun even dare to think of wats going to happen to mi next sem when i had to cope wif a long and packed timetable and 4 hrs of travelling everyday with the already limited time i have. But let mi start worrying abt dat next sem...meanwhile i shall enjoy my long-awaited break as much as i can...haha...

With my bf back in aust to complete his 2nd and last half of his degree course, im left in sg to fully concentrate on my studies. Just as wat he said, I seem to be able to cope better without him this time round. Indeed, due to the busy workload and friends, I managed to concentrate on my life and studies much better. Missing him without any sympathy for myself...haha...no doubt, i will get upset to see couples in front of mi....if they ever happen to spot mi, im sure they can see the amount of green-ness in my eyes...haha...

Is a rule that says an attached person should not have any close friends of the opposite gender? This issue of the existence of platonic friendships is always a topic worth discussing and no conclusion will ever come out of it. I was upset and troubled by this very issue for a few weeks during my stressful period. Wanted very much to ignore those rumours and talkings cos i believe platonic friendships definitely exist. But hearing the concerns from my friends, i was abit disappointed and was at a loss abt how to deal with the situation. Coincidentally, jean danker in class 95 raised this topic of the existence plantonic friendships and encouraged listeners' to call in. Out of the many call-ins, i think majority expressed their 'not possible' views. Even ppl around mi hold the same view, my bf included. I was disappointed and felt alone in this war with no one on my side. But on the other hand, i had my roomie who was worried for mi too...but after a talk, im glad someone has finally understood wat im going thru and really appreciate her trust and confidence in mi. Thanx Charisse for being such a wonderful and priceless friend!! She is always there for mi and im really so fortunate to have her as a friend whom i can confide in anytime, anwhere..

My hall stay this time was an enjoyable and memorable one. Though it was a tough sem for both mi and my roomie, we managed to talk more and spend more time together becos we went home less frequently this time round compared to our previous stay. My preparation for exams was also made less stressful with my good shifu around...sometimes i pity him for having such a so-many-questions, bad tempered and lazy student. haha...but he's such a nice and patient shifu dat he tries to clear my doubts as much as possible. Remember there was once when trying to clear one of my countless doubts, i couldnt answer any of his hinting qns, he was shocked (or rather frustrated) that he raised his voice abit and i was so scared dat i had tears in my eyes. Maybe becos i was worried too that time cos exams was around the corner and i realised there are still so many things i dunno or haben even hear b4. Then, there was a period of embarassing silence until i felt better. When we talked abt it later, it seemed like i was more angry than him and he was abit taken aback by my frustration instead!! haha...so funny...Thanx weilun shifu, cos u have no idea how much u have helped mi and no amount of thanx can be enough.

Was my birthday yesterday...woke up with so many unread smses of bdae wishes...felt good..haha..thanx to all! Had a yummy cake and iced mango tea @ Baker's Inn, followed by a taiwan porridge buffet @ Orchard Grand Court with mingli, huifang, weixian, weilun & wenpin. For the record, mingli made her $ worth by completing her 4th round bcos of her wisdom tooth extraction 3 days ago which deprived her of 'better food' for several days. Went to fisherman village after the dinner with another of my friend. Except for the songs played from the 'damaged' cd, it was a nice place to chill out. No long conversations, in fact, most of the time we were enjoying the sea breeze, the ambience and the music. Despite the absence of our usual craps, lame jokes and suaning arguments, i tot it was a nice meet-up. Oh, thanx jingyi for calling specially for a belated bdae wish! Appreciate it...

Time to enjoy the last few days of my break before i start my temp job @ Prudential next week and await for my bf's return! Wah...such long blog...a result of bottled up entries...haha..

Before i end this lor-sor blog, want to thank huifang, mingli and weixian for the bag, xiuying for helping to choose also. thanks weilun for the dessert treat. thanks dear for the air-mailed shorts and card. thanks philbert for the ktv treat. last but not least, thanks to all who remember my bdae and sent their bdae wishes! Thanks to all again!!
